How do Canadian primary care physicians rate the health system? The seventh bulletin in our Canadian Health Care Matters series, How do Canadian primary care physicians rate the health system? looks at physicians' insights into the performance of the health care system, based on survey results from the 2012 Commonwealth Fund International Health Policy Survey. The bulletin provides provincial and international comparisons of primary care physicians' responses in four areas: access to care, coordination of care, use of information technology, and practice improvement and incentives. It also provides results over time, comparing findings from 2006 to 2012. Health Innovation In 2005, an electronic medical record (EMR) pilot project was initiated in Great Slave Medical House in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. Based on the success of this pilot project, the Government of the Northwest Territories has begun a territory-wide EMR system; the plan is to have the entire territory on a single charting system.
